  • Primary Purpose of Position

     Osiris Therapeutics is looking for a dedicated individual to join the team as Human Resources Assistant. This is an entry level position, comprising in large part of filing and pushing paperwork/forms, both physical and electronic. The HR department is constantly busy and this position requires someone who is dedicated to keeping up and improving on the department’s operations and efficiency. Customer service orientation is a must. The HR Assistant will be exposed to multiple aspect of Human Resources, and professional growth is expected.

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Assume responsibility for physical employee files, including creation of new files as well as maintenance of existing files.
    • File documents in a timely manner.
    • Pull information and documents from files as necessary.
    • Print new hire paperwork packets and/or send packets to new hires, ensuring that paperwork is returned by date needed.
    • Maintain department’s electronic document files, scanning documents as needed.
    • Process invoices, including obtaining necessary signatures.
    • Obtain signatures on paperwork as required.
    • Answer calls from the front door requesting entry.
    • Greet visitors to the HR department as well as candidates arriving for interviews for all departments.
    • Assist with collection of information/documentation and generate reports as needed, Order business cards as requested.
    • Complete verification of employment requests.
    • Provide documentation to employees requesting such for certification or licensing requirements.
    • Process orders and results for background checks, drug tests, vaccines, and titers.
    • Maintain corporate job posting board, HR form display, and department calendar.

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows
    • Intermediate skills with all applications of Microsoft Office
    • Experience with Adobe Acrobat creating and editing forms (preferred)
    • Ability to interact professionally at multiple levels within a client-oriented organization
    • Ability to properly handle confidential information
    • Excellent organizational skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
    • High attention to detail
    • Ability to learn new computer and business systems
    • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks as well as prioritize workload
    • Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities and unforeseen events; excellent time management skills
    • Ability to work consistently in a fast-paced environmen
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Some college course work related to business preferred
    • 2+ years of administrative experience in a fast paced, dynamic office environment

    Able to handle high pressure situations and constructively resolve potential conflicts
