  • Primary Purpose of Position

    The Senior Director of Human Resources develops and executes the human resource policies and programs for Osiris Therapeutics, Inc.  He/she originates practices and objectives that provide a balanced program throughout the Company.  Coordinates implementation of policies through Human Resources staff.  Reports to the CEO as the ranking Human Resources executive in the Company.  Presents human resource needs and plans to the Board of Directors.  Assists and advises senior management on Human Resources issues.

    Principal Responsibilities

    Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Establishes a high performing corporate culture the supports the Company’s mission and vision.
    • Formulates and recommends human resource policies and objectives for the Company.
    • Recommends employee relations practices necessary to promote a high level of morale.
    • Works with CEO and Compensation Committee to establish wage and salary structure, pay policies, and performance appraisal programs.
    • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources. Monitors exposure of the Company.  Directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance.
    • Manages the daily functions of the department, including employee relations, benefit administration, budgets, contracts, recruiting, attrition, and performance management.
    • Manages, coaches, and supervises Human Resource staff.
    • Acts as primary contact with legal counsel and outside government agencies.
    • Directs a process of organizational development that addresses succession planning throughout the Company.
    • Consults with senior management and department managers to explain results.
    • Assumes responsibility for the Company’s benefit plans and coordinaties the annual enrollment. Monitors for effectiveness and cost containments.
    • Establishes standard recruiting and placement practices and procedures.
    • Assists with M&A analysis.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.




    • Bachelor’s Degree of higher in Human Resources, Psychology or Business.
    • 10+ years of progressively responsible Human Resource experience.
    • 5+ years of Human Resource manager experience in a publicly traded company preferred.
    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products.
    • Focused; Results oriented; dependable; self-starter.
    • Highly flexible.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
