  • Primary Purpose of Position

    You will serve as the primary reimbursement expert supporting the field in all areas related to reimbursement of Company products. You will assist the Director of Market Access and Reimbursement on execution of company strategies related to field reimbursement initiatives including education, compliance, resources and communication.  Ensure Company products are properly reimbursed and customer reimbursement related issues are resolved. 

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Implementation of Company field reimbursement strategy and execution of reimbursement initiatives.
    • Serve as subject matter expert on all things related to billing, coding and reimbursement by remaining current on relevant information.
    • Act as a consultant for reimbursement issues for the Company, resolving issues, answering questions, and assisting as required.
    • Serve as a consultant for educating new customers on billing, coding and reimbursement information. Provide claim reviews, coding information, review Billing Guide as needed. 
    • Train new sales reps and RAMs on reimbursement for the Company’s unique products.
    • Review IVRs for proper coding and coverage reporting for the relevant health plans.
    • Work with Field Managers and Training Dept to execute field-based reimbursement training.
    • Collaborate with Credit and Collections department and RAMs to facilitate resolution of reimbursement issues that cause aging accounts receivables.
    • Work closely with the RAMs and Reimbursement Hotline to ensure Osiris has the latest coding information, coverage policies and treatment guidelines.

    Qualifications

    • Healthcare, Biotechnology or Insurance Industry background in patient care, case management, reimbursement, billing and coding for wound care, surgical or DME
    • Strong problem solving and business acumen skills
    • Ability to interact professionally at multiple levels within a client-oriented organization
    • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks, and prioritize workload
    • Ability to work professionally with highly confidential information
    • Experience with Microsoft based applications, and ability to learn internal computer systems
    • Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities and unforeseen events; excellent time management skills
    • Ability to diplomatically address sensitive issues confidentially and professionally
    • Ability to work consistently in a fast-paced environment
    • Broad knowledge of healthcare documentation, medical policy guidelines, compliance, billing, coding and reimbursement related to buy and bill biotechnology, wound care, device or DME
    • Strong quality orientation including the ability to focus on details and adherence to compliance while ethically maintaining a business perspective
    • Ability to handle high pressure situations and constructively resolve potential conflicts

    Required:

    • 4-year college degree in the healthcare or health sciences field
    • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare reimbursement practices, billing procedures, compliance, coding, and medical terminology

    Preferred:

    • Strong background in understanding reimbursement for buy and bill products in the biotechnology industry related to wound care and/or surgical procedures
    • Experience in a healthcare coding and billing position

    Related work experience:

    • 3+ years of experience in reimbursement, billing and coding within the healthcare, biotechnology, wound care industry or surgical field
    • Prefer experience specifically in wound care billing, coding and reimbursement
    • Proficiency in other disciplines, i.e. ICD-10 & CPT Coding, medical insurance claim forms, EOBs, reading patient medical records, and investigating/resolving claim denial
